NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People

Qualification Structure 

NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People, Qualification is aimed at supporting children from birth to 5 years. Candidates will need to complete to achieve a minimum of 16 credits for the Certificate choosing some of the below to gain 16 credits:

  • K/601/3323 Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people 
  • T/504/0210 Importance of play for early learning 
  • M/601/2545 Use food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet 
  • Y/502/6963 Rights and responsibilities in relation to parenting 
  • L/502/6961 Accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting 
  • Y/601/0109 Sharing learning experiences with children 
  • M/601/0116 Respecting and valuing children 
  • R/502/6962 Caring for young children in a babysitting environment 
  • H/502/6965 Parenting a young baby 
  • T/601/0117 Children’s play and leisure activities in the community 
  • F/601/3442 Introductory awareness of sensory loss 
  • D/502/6964 Parenting and healthy lifestyles 
  • L/502/6958 The value of play to young children 
  • R/502/6959 Young children’s development 
  • J/502/6960 Craft activities with young children 

How will the qualifications be assessed?

You will work with your dedicated assessor and provide written answers via the Learning Assistant platform.


On average, most learners will complete in 2-3 months. Some learners may take less time depending on personal circumstances and how much time they have to dedicate to the course. We will work at a pace that suits you. You will have full uncapped support for 6 months.

Age Restrictions

The Level 2 Certificate is approved for those who are over the age of 16.
