This is one of our most popular Residential Childcare courses. The level 3 diploma is an occupational qualification for learners who work within a Residential Childcare setting in England. The qualification is for workers who have key responsibilities for the delivery of care and support and /or a level of supervision.
This can be credited towards an access to nursing course in most universities.

Therefore this qualification would suit the following groups of people:
- Lead Children Care Worker
- Lead Personal Assistant

Credits for this qualification
To achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) candidates must achieve a minimum of 61 credits. 53 credits must be achieved from 301-316. Candidates must also complete a minimum of 3 units from 317 – 323 to achieve a minimum of 8 credits.
How will the qualification be assessed?
You will build up a portfolio of evidence. This will be in the form of written statements or ‘Reflective Accounts’ along with supporting work products you have produced.
An assessor will visit you in the workplace at some point and undertake observations of you at work. This will be planned in advance in order to cause the minimum disruption to your work routine and to try to capture as much information as possible in one visit.
You may also supply witness testimonies or statements from third parties with whom you work. This may include supervisors or a line manager or other suitably qualified individuals that understand your job role and the standards you have to meet in order to obtain this level of qualification.
All Assessors are employed by SVT to ensure quality support and delivery.
On average most learners will complete in 6 months. Some may take less time depending on their personal circumstances and how much time they have available to dedicate to the course. We will work at a pace that suits you. You will have full uncapped support for 12 months.
What are the progression routes?
