Post of : NVQ Assessor in Health and Social Care/Management
Reporting to : Managing Director      
Salary : £20,000 - £23,000 PA depending on experience and qualifications
Hours : Full-time Permanent 37.5 hours per week
Salary Band : 3
Office base : Grimsby

Role: Assessor will provide induction and ongoing support and feedback to candidates either by email, telephone, Skype or face to face.  The assessor will also deliver workshops to new candidates to support them in building the portfolio and will carry out observations in the candidate’s workplace.  The role is predominantly office based, however as our students are located throughout the UK this will mean an element of travel, and at times, overnight stays.

The position is supported by key staff as follows:

  • Portfolio Administrator
  • Admin
  • Internal Verifier


It is therefore essential that the post holder possesses the following:

  • Assessor qualification (TAQA) or be working towards it. (A1 and D32/D33)
  • Practical Health and Social Care and Management experience in the workplace for a minimum of 2 years
  • Health and Social Care qualification at level 4 or 5
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good IT skills and ability to use email
  • Ability to deliver training in relation to the NVQ to groups of candidates
  • Car owner driver with full clean license


Desirable

  • V1 Internal Verifiers award or be working towards


From time to time the post holder will be asked to undertake other duties commensurate with their work.

Quality    
To ensure that our QMS is developed and communicated to all departments effectively.

Customer Care    
To ensure that each existing and new client is satisfied with the service that we provide and that complaints are dealt with effectively.

Training    
The post holder is expected to keep up to date his/her knowledge of health and social care and management matters as appropriate.

Project Management
The post holder will be encouraged to be involved with and develop business opportunities and to project manage these. This will be at the discretion of the Managing Director and will include the writing of and preparing of training presentations.

Resources    
Staff, PC, telephone communications, SVT websites and other internet based sites, email and administration support.

Responsibility    
To ensure the profitability of the company through the appropriate management of the operations and staff as described above.

Authority    
The post holder will report to the Managing Director.

Sick Leave and Holiday
20 days holiday will be paid each year plus 8 Bank Holidays. Sick leave will be by Statutory Sick pay on receipt of a medical note after 4 days absence. A self certification form should be completed up to the first 7 days and submitted to the line manager.

Disciplinary Matters    
Matters relating to disciplinarians and or complaints of any nature will be dealt with in the first instance by the Managing Director.

Notice    
One months notice is required by the post holder, and will be given as appropriate, unless the post holder is dismissed for miss conduct or gross miss conduct.

Additional duties: From time to time the post holder will be asked to undertake other duties commensurate with their work activities and abilities.
