Our team is made up of a group of professionals who between them share years of knowledge and experience, and this is utilised to support our candidates from the start of the NVQ and Training programmes all the way through to completion.

Mike Watson - Chairman

Mike Watson Chairman

Mike Watson CMIOSH, Dip RSA, MIIRSM, FlnstLM, MIVA has more than 25 years in business and operational management and occupational health and safety.

Mikes role is concerned with Business Partnerships Internationally ensuring the sustainability of the business and the continued success of the SVT group, including our Safety Management Vocational Training Ltd which is our International branch.

Did you know? I had a gun pointed at me by a vandal who smashed my car window. He was on a bike at the time. I was so angry that I pulled his bike from him and threw it at him. He ran leaving his bike but still waving the gun in the air.

Tim Watson - Managing Director

Tim Watson Managing Director

Tim has vast knowledge of the HSE education industry and has travelled extensively. Tim has a strong back ground in Sales Management, Customer Service and Leadership. He works closely on the International side of the business whilst maintaining standards.

Did you know? I am a huge fan of classic British Comedy and Columbo. I also still own 8000 Marbles from when i was 6 and came 1st in a national marble competition.

Cheryl Watson - Finance Director

Cheryl has been with SVT Ltd for 10 years and is a founder.

Cheryl started as the companies Head of Administration and later Head of Finance. Cheryl is highly qualified and experienced in Management and Financial systems and has 20 years' experience in staff and career development.

Did you know? I own so many shoes we had to move house so they could have their own room!

Mandy Pickard - Head of Compliance (Head of NVQ's and Lead IV)

Mandy Pickard Head of Compliance (Head of NVQ's and Lead IV)

Mandy Pickard GradIOSH, DipRSA, FlnstLM, MIVA is our Lead Internal Verifier for overseeing the Health and Safety qualifications and Management qualifications.

As well as being actively involved in the NVQ process, Mandy is also our Managing Director, holding over 20 years experience in management, including health and safety and quality. Mandy's role is to ensure that the team work to the same standards throughout the NVQ process.

Did you know? When I ran a business in Louth, Lincolnshire, regular customers included the singer Barbara Dickson, her husband Oliver Cookson who is a BBC Producer and the Oscar winning actor Jim Broadbent. Quite a few famous people live in rural Lincolnshire!

Joanne Eastham - Business Manager

Joanne Eastham Business Manager

Joanne has been in health and social care for almost 30yrs. She has worked with adults and children, then specialising in adults with mental health and dementia. Working my way up from a carer and then into management and training. Joanne has been assessing for 4 years. 

Did you know? I love to bake and make novelty cakes. I dont think they want to know i love gin more and like to drink lots of it!! lol ;)

Mark Avison  - Course Account Manager

Mark Avison Course Account Manager

Mark is the Corporate Manager for SVT Ltd for both the UK and the international operations.

Having gained over 15 years sales and management experience from varied industries, including marine safety & protection, telecommunications and leisure. Marks role is to drive the company’s corporate strategies forward both in the UK and the international market.

Did you know? I used to stack shelves in a supermarket with Robert Webb and I helped re-introduce Donkey’s to New Brighton beach.

Philip Jewitt - Course Account Manager

Philip Jewitt Course Account Manager

Having 25 years sales and management experience Phil has joined SVT Ltd to add this to the Course Advisory team. His main role is to advise candidates on suitable qualifications to further enhance their careers in both the UK and International market places.

Did you know? I was once part of a team that broke the UK record for pulling a 2 ton artillery gun over a 7.5 mile course on Salisbury Plains. I was also known for having the widest 1970’s style ‘Kipper Tie’ at Secondary School.

Abi H Jones - Course Account Manager

Abi H Jones Course Account Manager

Abi has over 10 years experience in the retail sector and customer service industry. She has worked for Selfridges in the heart of London and many major retail outlets across the UK.

Sean Watson  - Assessor/Tutor

Sean joins SVT with 20 years of experience in Health and Safety Training. 

Sean has worked in prisons and in the construction industry. He has also worked with helping students in local colleges.

Simon Vickers  - Health and Safety Assessor

Simon Vickers Health and Safety Assessor

Simon has over 10 years experience assessing within the Health and Safety sector.

Simon began his career in Health and Safety as an aviation fire fighter in 2000 with Manchester Airport Group and also as a retained fire fighter with the local authority. 

He is also now a fully qualified Internal Quality Assurer.

Matt King - Portfolio Coordinator/Assessor

Matt King Portfolio Coordinator/Assessor

Matt co-ordinates the administration of NVQ qualifications delivered by various awarding bodies.

Matt is your first point of contact when submitting evidence for Health & Safety qualifications and will prepare it ready for the assessment team.

Did you know? I killed my Granny's pet tortoise when I was young by sitting on its shell and squashed it to death.

Jo Towse - Assessor for Health and Social Care

Jo Towse Assessor for Health and Social Care

Jo brings to the team a wealth of skills and knowledge having over fifteen years experience in care within the NHS sector, both delivering care and gaining extending clinical skills.

She also has two years experience in administration for Clinical Research as a data Co-ordinator for Clinical trials. Jo has spent the last year as an Assessor for Health and Social Care at levels two and three, before joining SVT in January 2014.

Did you know? I like walking and have completed the Hadrian’s Wall with my Son raised £1000. For Charity and lost 2 toe nails!

Nikki Michaels - IQA Assessor

Nikki Michaels IQA Assessor

With over 25 years of working in a variety of social care settings with both Adults and Children, Nikki brings a lot of knowledge and experience to the Care team. Nikki currently works as an assessor for candidates on the level 3 and 5 Diploma's in Health and Social Care and is also an active Internal Quality Assurance Practitioner for SVT Ltd.

Kerry started with us 4 months ago after a swich in career from a beauty therapist. She is currently studying hard to pass her level 2 finance course. 

Did you know? I am a huge animal lover and have over 9 pets! I use to have 2 adults pigs in my garden but i decided i like grass instead.

Jonathan has a strong back ground in secondary support and is currently studying AAT level 2 in accounting. Jonathan has a passion to become a trained accountant. Jonathan will work closely with Cheryl Watson assisting management candidates with there studies and deal with general finance duties.

Leanne joins us as our Administration Apprentice.  She will predominantly provide support to our Care team, however she will be answering the telephone to all and over a period of time will cover a range of duties as she progresses her qualification.
